Murray Close is one of the most prominent and successful film stills photographers working today.
His recent credits include Civil War written by Alex Garland, Alien Romulus, John Wick and his list of credits of working in the industry goes back to working on The Shining with Stanley Kubrick.
Following a move to the UK he was employed to shoot the stills on what has since become a British Classic, Withnail and I. This exhibition showcases a select few of the surviving images. The stills were nearly lost forever. A lab was closing and only an eagle eyed employee spotted the negatives and was prudent eenough to get them back to Murray.
Nadia Attura’s work evokes images of worlds that do not exist but allow the viewer to take a windowside seat. Decorative and painterly she has recently become one of the ‘Women to Watch’ at the OtherArtFair.
Nadia’s work has featured in many of the glossy mazines and has been singled out by architectural and interior magazines. It is also highly affordable, at least for now. As time goes on well who knows. Look out for this, her first solo Scottish show.
Paul is a highly collectable photographer whose move to Newcastle has opened a new avenue of images based on more urban themes. Using objects retreived from beaches and cities to create work that is beautifully abstract. If ever there was ‘photography’ that is in the eye of the beholder then this is it. Like reading a book you picture the characters in your head, Paul’s work lets the viewer use their own imagination and tell their own story.
