Embrace a Scotland of yesteryear. This series of images capture an era now gone.
Wee Jeanie a Glasgow ‘wean’. Red hair, red flats and not many cars.
Skipping Girls - shot in Edinburgh it perfectly captures two girls enjoying playing in the streets from the 1970s. the red dress, red rope, pillar box and road sign all add to this beautifiully framed piece.
The lady with the cat is Mrs Doubtfire. She of the famed film. Well not really but her name was the influence behind the films title and she lived a mere stones throw from the gallery
Ravenscraig is the classic image of the once mighty steel industry. A melancholic piece with the breath of the dog emulating the steam belching from the factory. The sihouetted figures head bowed in silence.
Newhaven Wifies. This is the era when ladies worte fur coats and fur hats as their Sunday best, caught in Newhaven a one time fishing village and now part of Edinburgh.
Lord Provost (BoBo) MacKay taken in Inverness at the opeining of a Scout fete. Doug was only 15 when this was taken.
Charlotte Square, Edinburgh. The architecture may not have changed but the fashion has.
Whisky taster. A beautiful series of images that capture a young man’s first and maybe last whisky tasting.
